The Leafs hoped to net six points from the eight that were up for grabs when they started their road swing in Nashville, but they now have to run the table in Florida to make that happen.
"Both Tampa (Thursday) and Florida (Saturday) are ahead of us, but obviously in reach," forward John Mitchell said Wednesday. "We have to keep up the things we are doing (right), getting goals in the first period and keep applying that pressure.
"But it's the same thing as when we get down 2-0 (which has happened 24 times this season). We come fighting back and teams will do the same to us."
VINNY WON'T BOLT
There have been more Vinny Lecavalier trade rumours, but insiders believe he will cling tightly to his no-trade clause. One school of thought is that he is determined not to give the current Lightning ownership the last word on his fate after they talked of dealing him last season -- against his wishes.
