LAST NIGHT AT AIR CANADA CENTRE

CAROLINA HURRICANES (14-24-7) 4

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS (15-23-9) 2

STANDING O

Longtime Maple Leafs goaltender Curtis Joseph was given a standing ovation when introduced at the Air Canada Centre last night. Cujo officially retired yesterday afternoon.

TLUSTY RETURNS

Former Maple Leaf Jiri Tlusty played against his former team for the first time, on a line with veteran Rod Brind'Amour and Patrick Dwyer. Tlusty, the club's first-round pick in 2006, was traded to Carolina on Dec. 3 for junior prospect Philippe Paradis.

HEALTY SCRATCH

The talk at practice on Monday that Rickard Wallin, the struggling fourth-line centre, would get a boost last night by playing with Kessel. Instead, Tyler Bozak was called up from the Marlies and put on a line with Kessel and Nikolai Kulemin, with Wallin being a healthy scratch.
