Kadri earns praise from Leafs GM

PHILADELPHIA -- Nazem Kadri gets two thumbs up from his big boss.

Asked for his opinion of Kadri's performance for Canada at the 2010 World Junior championship, Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke last night said he was impressed with the London Knights forward.

Kadri, Toronto's first-round pick in the '09 entry draft last summer, scored three goals and added three assists in the tournament, which culminated with a disappointing 6-5 overtime loss to Team USA in the gold-medal game Tuesday.

"The world juniors is a stage where players can have a coming out party and prove themselves," Burke said. "He very much did that.

"We sent him back to junior because he needed to get bigger and stronger. He got off to a slow start in London but he's really started to pick it up. He should come out of the tournament feeling good about himself. I know we do."

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
