LAST NIGHT AT PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS (20-19-3) 6

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS (15-20-9) 2

OH, DANNY BOY!

When he beat Jonas Gustavsson in the third period of the Flyers' 6-2 blowout of the Leafs, Daniel Briere registered the 500th point of his NHL career. When the milestone was acknowledged on the scoreboard, the capacity Wachovia Center crowd gave him a standing ovation.

HEAD GAMES

We'll say this for Gustavsson: He'll do anything to stop the puck.

Including using his head.

Late in the second period, Gustavsson faced a high shot that he clumsily knocked away with his head, The puck went right out to unsuspecting teammate Ian White, who almost knocked it into his own net.

BROAD ST. BEATDOWN

The game wasn't even three minutes young before Jamal Mayers and Ian Laperriere went fist city in front of the Leafs bench.

Normally an ornery competitor, Laperriere was not able to land a single punch in the 20-second scrap.

UP NEXT

Tomorrow -- Maple Leafs at Buffalo Sabres; 7:30 p.m., SNO, AM 640.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
