Mike Komisarek helped preserve Jonas Gustavsson's shutout on Saturday -- and then helped rescue the souvenir puck.
After the 2-0 win against the Boston Bruins, Komisarek saw Lee Stempniak toss the game puck to a fan in the seats.
"I shouted 'What are you doing?'" Komisarek said.
Said Stempniak: "The last few home games I've been grabbing the puck at the end and throwing it to someone. As soon as I threw it, Komisarek said: 'Hey, it's his first shutout'. I figured I couldn't get it back. I scrambled right back out and offered the guy a stick (in exchange) and he gave it back, no problem. That was nice of him. Crisis averted.
"I still have my first goal puck, so I'm sure that's a nice souvenir for him."
