LAST NIGHT AT MONTREAL

CENTURY MARK

The Canadiens are marking 100 years on Friday, but the Leafs hit a century mark of their own last night. It was their 100th win in Montreal since 1917-18, against 207 losses and 43 ties.

RUDE WELCOME

Forget booing Mike Komisarek when he touched the puck last night, angry Habs' fans let him have it whenever he came over the boards.

One Montreal writer noted that Komisarek was voted the most popular Polish athlete in town in 2008, ahead of Formula One Canadian Grand Prix driver Robert Kubica. The same writer ventured that "even a telephone pole is more popular now that he is (back) in this city".

But he played a strong game in the face of crowd adversity.
