GLEE CLUB
Carolina defenceman Tim Gleason's two goals were a career high for a game and gave him a career-high four in one season with lots of hockey to play.
POINTLESS
Phil Kessel was held without a point for the first time this season since his 10-shot Leafs debut against Tampa Bay on Nov. 3. Kessel also was held to just two shots last night, matching his season low.
LUCKY LEAFS?
Any Tom Petty fan on the Leafs bench must have been chuckling after the third Toronto goal. The PA at RBC Center system quickly blasted out Even The Losers Get Lucky.
The Canes still get a noisy crowd out, 13,502 last night, to their games despite their record, and received a standing ovation when they came out.
