Reports say that the Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Phil Kessel from the Boston Bruins.

Rumours had been swirling for days regarding a possible trade that would send Kessel to either the Maple Leafs or the Nashville Predators.

Kessel, who's spent three seasons in Boston, earned 60 points through 70 games last season, which included 36 goals and 24 assists.

There had been speculation during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft that the Leafs and Bruins were working on a deal that would send Leafs defenseman Tomas Kaberle the other way. The deal never materialized.

The Leafs have sent a first and second round pick in the 2010 draft and first round pick in 2011 to the Bruins.Kessel has agreed to a five-year contract worth $27 million.

Kessel, who had rotator-cuff surgery during the off-season, could possibly suit up for the Leafs in November.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
