Hydrated Monster resurfaces

Rookie goaltender Jonas Gustavsson was back at practise yesterday after being rushed to hospital on Saturday, suffering from dizziness during a VO2 Max test.

The 24-year-old from Sweden, who was signed as a free agent during the off-season, took part in practice and scrimmage yesterday without a problem.

"I forgot to eat breakfast. I was dehydrated. But it was fine, no worries," Gustavsson said of his little adventure into the Canadian health care system.

Head coach Ron Wilson couldn't help but make light of the situation, now that he knows that the Monster, as Gustavsson is known, is perfectly fine.

"I'm not going to say it was comical seeing him getting wheeled out of here.

"But I knew at the time it wasn't very serious," said Wilson.

Gustavsson said some of his new teammates have taken to calling him the Monster, others call him by his first name.

"To me, it doesn't matter," he said.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
