Leafs agree to deal with Bozak

PHILADELPHIA - Nothing like giving it the old college try.

On the night the Maple Leafs will debut Notre Dame standout, Christian Hanson, the Leafs have added another highly touted NCAA star to their roster.

Leafs general manager and president Brian Burke has landed University of Denver forward Tyler Bozak, signing the offensive threat to an entry-level contract. Like Hanson, he is expected to see ice time before the season is out.

Hanson, who will wear No. 20 for his Leafs debut tonight, and Bozak, are one way the Leafs are attempting to make up for the void of draft picks. With assistant to the general manager, Joe Nieuwendyk doing the selling, the Leafs have been an attractive choice. Basically management has promised players such as Hanson and Bozak playing time for the remainder of this season along with a serious opportunity to make the club at training camp next fall.

Sources say the Leafs have a shot at adding one more college star and the player most coveted free agent available - Boston University's Matt Gilroy.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
