Van Ryn may not play
Leafs recall Sifers from farm

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Maple Leafs went down to the farm yet again to replenish their depleted defence corps.

Jaime Sifers got the call after the Marlies 10-5 win on Sunday and was on an early morning flight to join the team for its noon practice at the Bankatlantic Center.

Sifers is likely to replace Mike Van Ryn Tuesday when the Leafs face the Panthers. Van Ryn's latest injury came in Saturday's win over Montreal.

Leafs coach Ron Wilson wouldn't rule out Van Ryn's return during this two-game Florida swing.

"He is getting an MRI today and we'll have a better idea after that," Wilson said.

The team is referring to Van Ryn's latest mishap as a "lower body injury" after being boarded against the Canadiens. The first-year Leaf made the trip and was looking forward to playing his former team tomorrow.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
