Brian Burke will have a lot to talk about.

The president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs will be coming to London on Feb. 18 as part of a speakers' series co-sponsored by the London Convention Centre and the London Chamber of Commerce.

The series is called Engaging Insights, with a goal to sharing the expertise of prominent individuals who have been successful in their careers.

Burke's professional management career includes his time as former president and general manager of the Vancouver Canucks, as well as executive vice-president and general manager of the 2007 Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks.

Burke will talk about the rebuilding of a business and the challenges of competing at an elite level. He's been involved in all aspects of the sports business, including acting as a player agent and working for the National Hockey League.

"He's an accomplished speaker, but these are trying conditions," said Gerry Macartney, chief executive officer of the chamber, referring to the fact as the Leafs continue to struggle, Burke is the man everyone looks at to make things right.

"This is a bit of a departure for us because it's not business, although it is in a way. And the sports angle would be good for us for a change," Macartney said.

Burke will speak to not only rebuilding a business, but also how to do so in difficult economic times.

Macartney is a sports fan, but the team he cheers for is the Detroit Red Wings.

"If he can turn this one around, he'll really be considered a genius," Macartney said.

The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch to follow. Tickets can be purchased online through the chamber at londonchamber.com or call 519-432-7551, ext. 24.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
