PITTSBURGH -- Vesa Toskala may not start in goal for the Maple Leafs in Atlanta tomorrow night after aggravating his groin in Toronto's 7-3 victory over the Penguins last night.
But it may not be regular backup Curtis Joseph who takes his place. Though nothing is official, the word is the Leafs may call up Justin Pogge from the Marlies and start him against the Thrashers.
Joseph has struggled in seven appearances this season, posting a 0-4 record and a 4.33 goals-against average.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Pogge has appeared in 22 games for the Marlies and has a solid 2.86 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage.
"Hopefully it's nothing too serious," Toskala said of his groin, adding that he tweaked it in the second period. "I'll have to talk to the trainers and coaches and see what they want to do."
