Sundin's decision likely on ice
By TERRY KOSHAN -- Sun Media

A decision by Mats Sundin regarding his NHL future might not come until after the regular season has started.

That's the word his agent, J.P. Barry, gave to the Vancouver Sun newspaper.

"Right now we are not putting any pressure on him because he has to get that feeling he wants to play," Barry said. "Right now, he is no closer."

Barry was supposed to talk to Sundin yesterday but was not expecting a decision one way or the other. The belief is Sundin is leaning toward retirement. Barry told Sun Media earlier this week that Sundin had not started skating yet, which could be seen as a sign that he might retire. Of course, given the unpredictable nature of the story, Sundin could start skating in November and announce in December he is going to return. Anything is possible.
