J.P. Barry was in full denial mode again, yesterday.

The agent for free-agent Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin dismissed a New York Post report that his client has expressed an interest in signing with the New York Rangers, who have just $2-million US in cap space remaining.

"Nothing has changed," Barry said in an e-mail to Sun Media last night. "I'm still waiting for Mats' decision on whether he will even be playing or not."

There are believed to be six teams in the hunt should Sundin, 37, decide to return to the NHL -- including the Leafs, Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers.
