OTTAWA -- Mats Sundin could be joining his teammates for one final regular-season ride.

The Maple Leafs captain, with a huge home-and-home set against the Boston Bruins starting Tuesday, is scheduled to practise tomorrow. If that goes well, expect Sundin in uniform the next night at the Air Canada Centre.

"(Friday and yesterday) were the first days where he felt power and he was able to change gears," coach Paul Maurice said. "He won't skate (today), we'll give everyone the day off, but the plan is for him to skate full in practice (tomorrow). If he can do that, he will be back."

After watching Vesa Toskala make 32 saves in his 27th consecutive start, helping the Leafs pull off a stunning win, Sundin was thrilled but not surprised.

"That's the way we have been playing the past month or so," Sundin said. "At the start of this year, we knew we needed (Matt) Stajan and (Alex) Steen and (Kyle) Wellwood to play great and they have."

Sundin said his injured groin felt "a little better."

Boyd Devereaux, who joined Sundin on the ice yesterday morning as the rest of the Leafs stayed at their hotel, indicated he should be ready to play as well. Devereaux has been out with a knee injury.
