5 Players on the bubble

Though there won't be a lot of players likely to break into the Maple Leafs' overall roster during camp, here are five players who must impress John Ferguson and Paul Maurice to solidify their roles:

ANDREW RAYCROFT, GOALTENDER

How much of the exhibition game pie will he get? He'll have to make an impression quickly, otherwise the home-friendly October schedule -- with just one back-to-back series -- will see a healthy dose of Vesa Toskala.

ANDY WOZNIEWSKI, DEFENCE

A force at last year's camp before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery, he could get a bigger role if Pavel Kubina struggles.

MATT STAJAN, FORWARD

Thanks to the departure of Mike Peca, Yanic Perreault and Travis Green, the depth chart at centre has opened up like the 401 at 4 a.m. This is a great chance for Stajan to truly establish himself as a two-way mainstay.

KRIS NEWBURY, FORWARD

Ranked slightly behind the taller Ben Ondrus in the role of feisty fourth-liner, but only because the former played more games. Four points in 15 games with the Leafs last year.

ANTON STRALMAN, DEFENCE

This kid had the sense to throw water on predictions in Sweden that he's "the next Lidstrom." He also said he'd go to the minors if need be. He'd have to beat out Wozniewski, Staffan Kronwall and Bryan Muir to be the seventh defenceman here.
