Yabadabadoo for White

Fred and Barney -- or Hal Gill and Ian White, as they are known outside the Toronto dressing room -- may have been split up on the Maple Leaf blue line, but it's a divorce that has paid instant dividends for coach Paul Maurice and his team.

Having played with the hulking Gill for most of the season, White seems to have adapted very well to new defence partner Bryan McCabe.

White was an eye-popping plus-six in the Leafs 10-2 thrashing of the Boston Bruins Thursday, a plus-minus total White considers to be a personal best dating back to his minor hockey days.

"It's definitely never happened to me before," White said yesteday. "It's one of those things where Caber and I just happened to be out there when things were going right."

White chipped in with a pair of assists and was a threat all game long with his lengthy tape-to-tape breakout passes that sprang a number of Leaf forwards in the neutral zone.

"Playing with (McCabe) has been great," he said.
