Nik Antropov's ankle injury is more serious than first believed, another setback for the Maple Leafs' hard-luck Kazakh forward.
Coach Paul Maurice said yesterday the left winger is now "week-to-week" rather than the orginal day-to-day prognosis after rolling his ankle awkwardly at practice Wednesday.
"I certainly don't expect him in the next five to seven days," Maurice said, though he ruled out a fracture.
Antropov overcame a history of knee injuries to make the team this year, only to suffer a lower leg injury in October. He returned to the first line and excelled for awhile before getting caught in the team-wide offensive slump.
