Mats Sundin has not yet determined what his hockey future will hold if the 2004-05 NHL regular season is cancelled.
"I haven't actually decided what I will do," the Maple Leafs captain said in an interview on Swedish television. "I know the Swedish Elite League has a very good standard, and if I decide to play I hope Djurgarden has a place for me."
Sundin, who has spent some of his down time on a golf vacation in Spain, will be part of the the IMG WorldstarsTour of Europe this month. While he wants the lockout to end, he apparently has benefited physically from the lack of action.
"It has been very good for me to be away from hockey for such a long time," Sundin said. "I don't think anyone can answer (whether the lockout will soon end). But of course I hope the season starts soon."
