Sharks, Wild make another trade
By SPORTS NETWORK
San Jose, CA - The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward James Sheppard from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Sheppard missed the entire 2010-11 season due to a knee injury suffered in a non-hockey related accident.
Selected ninth overall by the Wild in 2006, the 23-year-old has recorded just 11 goals and 49 points in 224 career games.
Sunday's trade was the third one between the two clubs in the last six weeks.
In late June, the Sharks sent forward Devin Setoguchi, prospect Charlie Coyle and their first-round pick in this year's draft to the Wild for defenseman Brent Burns. Then in early July, San Jose picked up Martin Havlat for Dany Heatley.
