Sharks sign Ferriero, Guite to one-year contracts

The San Jose Sharks signed forwards Benn Ferriero and Ben Guite to one-year contracts on Friday.

Ferriero played in 33 regular-season games with the Sharks last season, posting five goals and nine points. Over eight playoff games, he tallied one goal. In addition, he recorded 16 goals and 33 points with Worcester of the American Hockey League.

The undrafted free agent out of Boston College has notched seven goals and 14 points in 57 NHL games over the last two seasons.

Guite, who turns 33 on July 17, tallied 17 goals and 47 points in 72 games with Springfield of the AHL last season. His last NHL action came in a six- game stint with Nashville two years ago.

The former seventh-round pick of the Canadiens in the 1997 draft out of the University of Maine has tallied 19 goals and 45 points in 175 appearances with the Bruins, Avalanche and Predators.
