SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose Sharks president and chief executive officer Greg Jamison has decided to step down.
Jamison will continue to be involved with the franchise, but will step away from the day-to-day operations of the team as of Oct. 1.
"I have immensely enjoyed running this franchise and wish to thank the ownership group for their support and cooperation," said Jamison. "Our team, both on and off the ice, is set up for success moving forward, and I look forward to assisting my fellow partners in a more limited role."
Jamison will remain the team's Governor to the NHL.
In his 13 seasons as president, the Sharks have reached the playoffs 11 times with five Pacific Division titles in the past eight years. The club also advanced to the Western Conference finals in 2004 and again this past spring.
