Alexei Kovalev makes the move to Florida
By CHRIS STEVENSON, QMI Agency

I thought the closest we came to seeing the last of Alexei Kovalev was somebody wearing a his Russian national team sweater at the world junior championships in Ufa.

Now it turns out Kovalev, who turns 40 next month, will attend training camp with the Florida Panthers, according to columnist George Richards of the Miami Herald.

When Kovalev was in Ottawa, he said he’d like to play until he was 50. When you consider he only gave close to 100% in about one out of every five games, he’s probably closer to 30 years old in hockey years.

Are you bummed Canada lost to Sweden in the quarterfinals at the world hockey championship?
  Yes
  No
