There were no surprises as the Senators made their first round of cuts today at training camp.

While 15 players were assigned to the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton, three of the team's youngest prospects -- Nick Foligno (Sudbury, OHL), Cody Bass (Mississauga, OHL) and Tomas Kudelka (Lethbridge, WHL) -- were reassigned to their junior clubs for another year of seasoning.

With three exhibition games remaining, today's moves leave 28 players in camp, but not everybody is on the ice today at the Bell Sensplex.

Among the hard-hit defensive corps Wade Redden (groin), Anton Volchenkov (broken fingertip) and Joe Corvo (broken foot) are still sidelined. The good news is captain Daniel Alfredsson (groin) and winger Peter Schaefer (groin) are practising with the club.

Here are the rest of the cuts and all these players were assigned to Binghamton: G Kelly Guard, G Jeff Glass, RW Jeff Heerema, C Grant Potulny, LW Brian Maloney, RW Ryan Vesce, RW Danny Bois, D Neil Komadoski, C Bobby Robins, C Andrew Ebbett, D Neil Petruic, RW Cory Pecker, LW Arttu Luttien D Charlie Cook and RW Chanse Fitzpatrick.

The Baby Sens open camp tomorrow.
