PHILADELPHIA - It didn’t take Dale Hunter very long to squash any potential goaltending controversy involving the Washington Capitals.

Even with Michal Neuvirth progressing from a leg injury, Hunter told Washington-area reporters on Sunday that rookie Braden Holtby will carry the load.

And with good reason.

Entering Game 3 of the Caps best-of-seven first round series against the Boston Bruins on Monday, Holtby has allowed just two goals in more than 144 minutes of hockey.

Case closed.

“It’s not even (an issue)” Hunter said. “Holtby’s our goalie.”

You can bet that’s not what the Bruins were hoping to hear.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
