Derek Roy knows he's a hired gun.

Having been acquired just before the trade deadline and being a pending unrestricted free agent, Roy's duty with the Vancouver Canucks is plain and simple.

"They didn't bring me in for the last 10 games of the season. They brought me in for the playoffs," the centre said after Tuesday's practice.

"I was just trying to get accustomed to all the teammates, trying to get some chemistry between all the lines, see what works well and try to find myself within the team. Now it's my time to go out there and play like I can."
