Joe Colborne’s time is now.

Waiting for the chance to show both his old and new team what he’s capable of on the big stage, Colborne got the call in Game 6.

It was a somewhat surprising start, unless the Leafs knew after Game 5 that Tyler Bozak’s suspect shoulder would sideline him.

Bozak took the warm-up, but the 6-foot-5 Colborne was out there, too, and though announced as a scratch, was on the bench for the anthems. He became part of coach Randy Carlyle’s rotating lines as the game wore on.

Colborne came to the Leafs in the Tomas Kaberle trade, the one that helped Boston achieve its Cup goal in 2011. Kaberle was not retained in Beantown and it has been hoped Colborne would realize the potential of his first-round selection in 2008.
