TORONTO - No one knows how the green Maple Leafs will respond under playoff pressure, but that’s not going to be a problem behind the bench.

Randy Carlyle has worked 62 post-season games and is the first Cup winner to pilot the Leafs in playoffs since Red Kelly. Those credentials and his delegation of vital duties to five assistants has to count for something when the shooting starts.

We feel really good about the coaching staff having the pulse of this team, assistant general manager Claude Loiselle said Sunday afternoon. Its making sure their level of intensity is up there, just like in a playoff series. Its almost been a playoff series this whole (48-game) season. Weve played every second day.

Thats what we like so much about our coaching staff, their attention to detail in every area of that room, from the top players to the bottom players. No one gets a night off.
