ST. LOUIS - Brian Elliott will start in net for the Blues in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Sharks.

Starting netminder Jaroslav Halak has been ruled out of Monday's contest in San Jose because of a lower-body injury stemming from a collision with teammate Barret Jackman in Game 2.

Elliott relieved Halak early in the second period on Saturday and made 17 saves to finish off a 3-0 shutout to tie the series at a game apiece.

Halak and Elliott essentially split time between the pipes during the regular season, with the former making 46 starts and compiling a 1.97 goals against average and Elliott posting a 1.56 GAA over 38 games -- 36 starts.
