SAN JOSE - Jamie McGinn served more time than he played, but the San Jose Sharks winger made a major impact on Game 3

He knocked Vancouver Canucks defenceman Christian Ehrhoff out of the game with a clean hit, then knocked defenceman Aaron Rome out with a dirty one in the third period, drawing a five-minute major that almost cost San Jose the game.

Rome had to be helped off the ice after his head slammed into the corner glass.

Those situations are always reviewed, the league will deal with that, said Sharks coach Todd McLellan. I had a chance to look at it on video and I think the referee probably made the right call on the ice. I dont think there was any intent on Jamies behalf. We hope (Rome) is healthy, we dont want to see that happen to anybody.

McGinn said he was just playing tough playoff hockey.

"I was trying to cut him off, he said of Rome. I thought I caught him on his left shoulder. I didnt mean to hurt him, I didnt want him to get hurt at all.

Ehrhoff?

He came across and I was just trying to finish my check, he said. I took advantage of that. I think it might have hurt him, but on all my hits Im not trying to hurt anyone. Its unfortunate he got hurt but its probaby good for us.
