Flyers could get Meszaros back

The Philadelphia Flyers could get a boost on the back end during the second round of the playoffs.

Defenceman Andrej Meszaros, who's been out since March 21 after having back surgery, skated Tuesday with the Flyers, albeit while wearing a non-contact jersey. Meszaros was expected to miss 6-8 weeks but has made progress quicker than expected.

"I'm really encouraged," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette told CSNPhilly.com. "He's a really big part of our team. Any time you get a player back and he start's practicing, that is a positive."

The Flyers could use some help on defence after losing Nicklas Grossman and Marc-Andre Bourdon during their first-round win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Grossman, out since game 4 of the Pittsburgh series, has a concussion.
