OTTAWA - C'mon, really? People are questioning Daniel Alfredsson's leadership, his character?

Geez, give your head a shake.

The 40-year-old Senators captain, the heart, soul and face of the organization -- a guy who has sunk so much time into charity and making this a better place -- is taking plenty of heat for comments he made after Wednesday's 7-3 shellacking at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The loss put Ottawa down 3-1 in its Round 2 playoff series.

When asked 10 minutes after Game 4 if it was feasible that Ottawa could bounce back and win the next three games of their Round 2 series, the Senators captain said: "Probably not."

His honesty sent headline writers and social media types into a tizzy.

Of course, there was more to the story. While Alfredsson was being roasted from behind keyboards and cellphones everywhere, he went into further detail at a media availability session before the Senators headed to Pittsburgh for Friday's Game 5.
