While the Ottawa Senators make a healthy scratch of Matt Kassian, they continue to get the help of his dad.

Brent Kassian not only owns a physio therapy clinic in Edmonton, he's also the longtime team chaplain of the Edmonton Eskimos.

Asking him to say a prayer for your hockey team, Matt?

"It's the kind of thing he's doing anyway," said the Senators enforcer. "I don't have to ask him. I know he says it."

Kassian, under contract with the Senators for another year, comes by his athletic abilities honestly. Brent was a world-class track athlete and, Matt believes, could have been "could have been a tremendous football player.

"He can throw that friggin football, still ... it whistles when he does. He's got a cannon."
