'Don't F--- With The Walrus' T-shirt flap a mistake: Sports Experts

Jamie McLennan claims the above T-shirt design was stolen from him and sold in Ottawa.

OTTAWA - What started off as a playful way to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday and rally support for the Sens turned into big headache for Jamie McLennan when “some random dude” ripped off his 'Don’t F--- With The Walrus' T-shirt.

A version of the shirt ended up on the rack of a major sports retailer and the shirt manufacturer says it’s trying to determine who owns the original design.

“This could have been something pretty amazing,” McLennan said Thursday. “It kind of leaves a damper on the whole thing.”

A Sports Experts franchise is donating sales of the T-shirt to the Ottawa Senators Foundation after learning the design was knocked off.

Mike Swartzack, co-owner of the store at Bayshore Shopping Centre, said he had no idea the design wasn’t an original from supplier Daquin.
