Penguins paste Senators in 4-1 series-opening win

PITTSBURGH - A tough start for the Senators in a tough town.

As the Senators arrived in Round 2 for the first time in six years, this was not the finish they would have scripted with a 4-1 loss to the powerful Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 Tuesday night at the Consol Energy Center.

The Senators know winning the Eastern semifinal against the No. 1-ranked Penguins will be a monumental task, but Ottawa players learned quickly Pittsburgh -- with all its firepower -- is a bigger challenge than the Montreal Canadiens.
