PITTSBURGH - The Toronto Maple Leafs and their faithful were still trying to recover from the Beantown Beatdown Tuesday.

The shot Patrice Bergeron fired to give the Boston Bruins a 5-4 OT victory in Game 7 Monday was heard around the hockey world. The Bruins rallied from a three-goal, third-period deficit, leaving the Senators as the only Canadian team standing.

While even the most ardent hater of the Leafs probably had their heartstrings tugged at a little bit by watching Toronto go down in such heartbreaking fashion, we'll never know how the Senators feel about the whole thing.

Even though captain Daniel Alfredsson is booed every time he touches the puck by Leafs Nation, I asked him before he faced the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 of the Eastern semifinal if even a small part of him felt sorry for Toronto.
