No, the Islanders didn’t beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, but New York certainly was pesky and pushed the No. 1-seeded team in the East before the series ended with Brooks Orpik scoring the overtime winner Saturday night at Nassau Coliseum.

“After Game 1, everybody thought it was going to be a sweep,” said captain Daniel Alfredsson. “Every series takes its own life cycle. We’re going to start on the road again so we’re going to try to get that first game.
