OTTAWA - If Daniel Alfredsson makes a return to these playoffs, it wont be for Game 5.

The concussed Senators captain did not practise Friday at Scotiabank nor was he going to be taking the charter to New York later in the afternoon.

In fact, its starting to look like Jakob Silfverberg has a better chance of playing in this series than Alfredsson. Silfverberg, the Swedish elite leagues best player and a highly regarded Senators prospect, will be arriving in Ottawa Sunday.

Alfredsson has been out since taking an elbow In Game 2 from Carl Hagelin, who will serve the last of his three-game suspension Saturday.

Hes unchanged, coach Paul MacLean said of Alfredssons status before the team flew to New York. And no, hes not travelling with us.

Skating with the Senators and making the jaunt to Manhattan will be Mark Stone, a dominating scorer in the Western Hockey League this season as well as a star for Canada at the world juniors. Mike Hoffman, who scored 21 times for Binghamton this season, will also draw consideration from the coaching staff, if its decided an influx of new blood is the way to go.

If not, Kaspars Daugavins and Rob Klinkhammer are also available.

We have multiple personnel at this point, said MacLean. Were going to keep all those options open.
