BUFFALO - The Senators and winger Mike Comrie are ready to roll.

But, winger Patrick Eaves will have to wait until Game 2 on Saturday to see if he’ll suit up in the Eastern Conference final against the Buffalo Sabres, which gets under way tonight with Game 1 at the HSBC Arena.

While Comrie has been nursing what is believed to be an “upper body” injury and missed two days of practice, he confirmed at today's pre-game skate that he will play. Eaves hasn’t been in the lineup since Game 3 of the club’s series against the Pittsburgh Penguins when he was nailed by winger Colby Armstrong.

“He’s going to skate again today. We think we could use him, sure, but we think he’ll definitely be available by Saturday,” said Ottawa coach Brian Murray at his press conference this morning.

Both sides are anxious to get going. The Senators have been idle since they knocked off the New Jersey Devils on Saturday and the Sabres sent the Rangers packing less than 24 hours later.

The talking is finally done, but the Sabres aren’t going to get caught up in the hype.

“Look, the Senators have a good team and they’re deep in every area just like us,” said Buffalo co-captain Daniel Briere. “We try to worry more about our own game and how we’re going to be ready to go.”
