NOTES

The Senators decided not to make any changes last night, which meant RW Vaclav Varada was a healthy scratch for the second straight game in favour of D Christoph Schubert, who was used mostly as a forward ... Senators owner Eugene Melnyk was expected to be in the building last night ... The Sabres inserted LW Thomas Vanek into the lineup for Game 5. He had been a healthy scratch for three games, but the Sabres wanted to see what Vanek could contribute. That meant C Jiri Novotny was out of the lineup while C Tim Connolly didn't play either due to a head injury.

Sun Rating: 5 out of 5
