NOTEWORTHY

Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson, on the possibility of taking a 2-0 lead in the series: ''I think you try to have the killer instinct every game you play, every game's important. It was a big win for us (Friday), but I think Tampa's looking at it like, if they can squeeze one game out here, they're going to be happy going back to Tampa. It'd be a big plus for us to win this one. We're going to hopefully play better." ...Tampa's fourth line -- Martin Cibak (4:11), Evgeny Artyukhin (3:22) and Chris Dingman (2:46) -- saw limited action in Game 1. Ottawa's fourth line of Chris Neil (7:44), Vaclav Varada (7:36) and Antoine Vermette (15:49, including 6:34 on the penalty kill) provided a spark ... Ottawa outhit Tampa 29-22 in Game 1 and also had more giveaways (18-12) ... The Senators won 62% of the game's faceoffs.
