MONTREAL - Snowgate was all the rage here Wednesday.
The kids wearing Habs jerseys carrying team flags before Game 5 got a snow shower courtesy of Derek Dorsett.
The New York Rangers winger, who was given a pass by the NHL's department of safety for an apparent headbutt on Canadiens defenceman Mike Weaver, was getting a little heat when a video was posted on Twitter.
It showed Dorsett spraying the kids standing by the Habs bench as Montreal players were making their way onto the ice. One of them also fell and was helped up by Dorsett's teammate Mats Zuccarello.
"I'm not aware of Dorsett spraying the (flag) bearer. It's not a priority for me to see where the (flag) bearers are," said New York coach Alain Vigneault in French.
"If it happened, and I'm not doubting what you're telling me, it was probably purely an accident."
This isn't the first time this has happened. In a 2010 playoff series against the Capitals -- the last time the Habs came back from a 3-1 deficit -- Alex Ovechkin sprayed one of the kids.
Ovechkin maintained at the time it was something he does regularly and he didn't mean to get the kid.
In the playoffs, everything is under the microscope.
