BROSSARD, Que. — The Montreal Canadiens were on the defensive Tuesday.

The Habs are one of the NHL's most storied franchises, but they don't think they're getting any respect this spring.

Two days before their first-round series against the Senators begins Thursday, Habs winger Max Pacioretty lashed out at critics when asked if there was more pressure on Montreal because the club is the No. 2 seed in the East.

"We're in the playoffs and we're in Montreal. We've got enough pressure to worry about without being the No. 2 seed and adding even more," said Pacioretty following a 50-minute skate at the club's practice facility.

"There's always pressure in the playoffs, but you know what, people still don't believe in this team even though we won our division. We're fine with that. We'd rather have it that way. It's motivation for us to prove the doubters wrong."
