As the Los Angeles Kings look to make the Western Conference final a series, they will have to do it without their leading playoff scorer once again.

Already facing a 2-0 deficit to the Chicago Blackhawks heading into tonight’s Game 3 at the Staples Center, they’ll have to do without centre Mike Richards, who will miss his second consecutive game due to what is being treated like a concussion.

“If it was just about Mike Richards making the decision, Mike Richards would be playing tonight,” Kings coach Darryl Sutter said after the team’s game-day skate, acknowledging that Richards won’t go. “He’s doing a little every day, making some progress.”

Though the team isn’t revealing the exact nature of Richards’ injury, it would appear he has regressed since Sunday, when he was scratched minutes before Game 2.
