In a city of stars, the Los Angeles Kings need some of theirs to step back into leading roles.

Heading into Thursday's Game 5 at Staples Center, the Kings are all-square with the San Jose Sharks in their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series.

Mike Richards and Jeff Carter are the only big names carrying the offensive weight for the Kings through four games against the Sharks, prompting head coach Darryl Sutter to shuffle his forward units for Thursday's crucial showdown.

"When you score two goals in 120 minutes, you've gotta mix it around," shrugged Kings captain Dustin Brown, referring to a pair of 2-1 losses in San Jose.

Brown and centre Anze Kopitar have just one point apiece in this series with the Sharks.
