The Detroit Red Wings have lost forward Darren Helm for the rest of the playoffs.

Helm, 25, had surgery Thursday to repair lacerated tendons in his right forearm, the Red Wings said on Twitter.

Helm was cut by a skate blade after colliding with Nashville Predators forward Alexander Radulov.

"It's obviously awful, I didn't mean to do anything," Radulov told the Red Wings website. "He came in to hit me, it's hockey and it's awful. A bad injury and hopefully he will be OK."

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
