CHICAGO - Clash of the Titans.
Clash of the styles.
When the regular-season champion Chicago Blackhawks face the reigning Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings in the NHL's Western Conference final starting Saturday, it will be more than just a battle to see who faces off in the championship round for the crown.
It will be a study in guile versus grit, finesse versus fortitude, tact versus toughness.
"It's almost like they're a better St. Louis Blues," Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane said of the Kings after Friday's practice. "They play physical, have players that can score. When they do play physical, it seems to work to their advantage. Against them, we'll try to worry about what we have to do. If we play our game, play the fast-paced game we've been playing the past few games, it should work well for us."
