It was the biggest goal in Brent Seabrook’s career, one that punctuated an impressive comeback by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Down 3-1 in their Western Conference semifinal against the Detroit Red Wings, Seabrook put an end to an epic series between two long-time rivals.
“It was exciting,” Seabrook said. “I don’t think I’ve scored a bigger goal than that. It was Game 7 mentality, overtime against Detroit. It was pretty special. The boys fought hard all game. It was tough giving up that goal early in the third. We couldn’t grab another one. But we did a good job defensively, kept the puck out of our net and Crow (Corey Crawford) did a good job of giving us an opportunity to win.”
