DETROIT - Corey Crawford was staring at a very long summer.

The Chicago Blackhawks goaltender would have had reoccurring nightmares of the ghastly goal he allowed in the second period, had it turned out to be the game winner.

Instead, the Blackhawks bailed out their goaltender with three third-period goals on their way to a 4-3 win in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinal against the Detroit Red Wings.

Michal Handzus, Bryan Bickell and Michael Frolik scored for the Blackhawks in the third to overcome a one-goal deficit and send the series to a seventh and deciding game Wednesday in Chicago.

"We owed him, he's been standing on his head the whole series and the whole playoffs," Bickell said. "We're happy to be able to get the win for him."
